Christian author, speaker Bob Jamison. San Antonio, Texas. As a Christian writer, author and speaker, Bob has delved into the Christian Bible's book of John and discovered through the guidance of Jesus Christ, a message that, as a Christian author, he feels compelled to share through speaking, writing, and praying.

Welcome!

My Mission: To seek insights from biblical text, word pictures, and figurative language I see in God’s Word, and to share with individuals, the church, and specific segments of society about what these truths tell us today. Luke 12:48 warns us, “Everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required.” (All scripture is from the NKJ Bible unless otherwise noted). It is, therefore, my responsibility, privilege, and mission to share these insights with you.

Two Bible Interpretation Principles need to be understood in both What Was John Thinking? and the bible study, Living in Heaven Now.

Figurative Language. This style of writing may be new to some of you. It is sometimes called types and anti-types, shadow and substance, allegories, parables, figurative language and plain language, concealed and revealed. We use figurative language often in our own language, such as “scared the daylights out of me,” without realizing it. The Bible uses figurative language in all 66 books. My “Introduction” in Living in Heaven Now and “Author’s Notes” in What Was John Thinking? explain this style of writing in some detail. In John 16:25, Jesus said, “These things (the teaching and events prior to the Passion Week), I have spoken to you in figurative language…”

St Augustine, (A.D. 354-430), many say the most influential theologian of the early church fathers, wrote, “The New Testament lies hidden in the Old, and the Old Testament is enlightened through the New.” My word pictures attempt to reveal a few truths that are hidden in God’s Word. I will be adding to them periodically.

Two Living Parts. “Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). Dear friends, understanding that each one of us has two living parts, an inner man (heart) and an outer man (physical), is essential to understanding the teaching of the Bible Study, Living in Heaven now. When Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:10, “When I am weak, then I am strong,” he was referring to his two living parts. When he was weak physically because of what others were subjecting him to, then he became strong in his heart as he responded with peace, forgiveness, and, according to 2 Corinthians 6:10, even rejoicing through the grace of God.
